One of the biggest things that can make physics hard is if your math background isn’t strong enough. Khan Academy is a great free way to make sure you’re ready. Here are the skills I would recommend you master before you start physics: (You can search for these on Kahn Academy.)

First, make sure your algebra is solid. If you haven’t taken it, work through the full Introduction to Algebra, Linear Equations, and Systems of Equations, Exponent Expressions, Functions, and Ratios and Proportions

Then, work through these topics:

- Adding Vectors
- Scaling Vectors
- Solving Quadratics by Factoring
- Solutions to Quadratic Equations
- Trigonometry 0.5
- Trigonometry 1
- Trigonometry 1.5
- Trigonometry 2
- Inverse Trig Functions
- Reciprocal Trig Functions
- Pythagorean Theorem
- Solving Equations and Inequalities Through Substitution
